Download MP3 Files to PC (Windows)

We recommend downloading the mp3 audio folder and files on a desktop/laptop computer, extracting/unzipping the folder/files, and then using a Media Player on the computer to listen or move the unzipped mp3 folder and files to iTunes, designate it an album in iTunes and sync up your Apple devices (iPod, iPad, tablet, etc…) with iTunes on the computer.  Since iTunes is the most popular format, prompts on how to add the file to your library appear below:

Step One: To access your download, sign in to DeseretBook.com. After you are logged in tap or click on “My Account” at the top right. Tap or click “Order History” on the left and then tap or click the "Order Details" for your mp3 audio files, and you will see your download listed.

Step Two: Click on the Download button for the .zip file containing your mp3 files to begin instantly downloading to your Downloads folder. Alternatively, you can right-click the download button and a pop up window of options will appear. You will want to select the option “Save Target As…” or “Save Link As…”. Once you select this, the download window will appear asking where you would like to save the file. We recommend saving the file to your desktop. That way you can move it to the appropriate media player you use

Step Three:

The folder needs to be unzipped (takes the compressed file, and makes it a normal file that iTunes can use).

 Extracting the Zipped folder:  For album downloads, it will save to your computer as a zipped file.  This is a compressed file that makes the music easier to download. To unzip the file:

1. Locate the compressed folder that you want to extract files or folders from. Typically for most PC computers, this will appear either on your desktop, or in the 'Downloads' folder which is located in the 'My Documents' folder.

2. Then do the following:

o To extract/unzip the entire contents of the compressed folder, right-click the folder, click Extract All, and then follow the prompts.

o After the process is complete a regular looking folder should appear under the zipped folder.  This regular looking folder is the one we will want to move into iTunes.

Step Four(a):

You can now add the files to iTunes to listen on your PC or Apple device. Begin by opening iTunes and once it opens, you will want to select the ‘File’ prompt from the top-left corner.

From the available options that appear, click on 'Add Folder to Library.'  A pop up window will then appear asking you to locate the folder that you would like to add to iTunes.  After selecting the location of the unzipped folder, iTunes will add it to your music library.

Step Four(b):

You can also listen to the MP3 files on any device that supports MP3s. Follow your device's instructions about how to load MP3 files onto the device, and play them however your device requires.

If you experience any technical difficulties or are missing Download links to your purchases, send an email to downloads@deseretbook.com and we can make sure you are able to download your files.

Download MP3 Files to Mac

Because compressed files or zipped folders are a Windows function, Mac computers can’t read the folder (as it appears as a text document).  The steps below may require an additional decompression/unzip app or program to unzip or extract the folder. We recommend downloading the mp3 audio or audiobook folder and files on a desktop/laptop computer, extracting/unzipping the folder/files, and then using a Media Player on the computer to listen or move the unzipped mp3 audiobook folder and files to iTunes, designate it an audiobook in iTunes and sync up your Apple devices (iPod, iPad, tablet, etc…) with iTunes on the computer.  Since iTunes is the most popular format, prompts on how to add the file to your library appear below:

Once you select this, the download window will appear asking where you would like to save the file. We recommend saving the file to your desktop. That way you can move it to the appropriate media player you use

Step Three:

To extract/unzip the folder, you will need to use a decompression/unzip app or program on your Mac. Right-click the .zip folder and then select the following prompts –>Open with –> Applications –> "the name of your decompression/unzip app or program" on your Mac. It should extract the files into a regular looking folder that we can move to iTunes. If your Mac does not have a decompression/unzip app or program yet here are a couple to choose from to install on your Mac:

RAR Extractor:
